Setup up myMovo to transfer files to your iPod
There are two ways to get files from myMovo onto your iPod. The simplest is to have myMovo create a podcast for each category of video stream. This way, when myMovo is done streaming the current search results for you, it will create a podcast and launch iTunes. iTunes will then automatically import the files into iTunes and onto your iPod. To enable this feature, select the 'Run iTunes after download complete' checkbox, from the edit profile screen.

The alternative is to copy the files manually from the myMovo media directory to iTunes and manage the files yourself. The default location is c:/Program Files/myMovo/media. In this directory there is a folder for each day, and sub folders for each category. Note that myMovo will delete files in these directories once the maximum disk usage has been exceeded. The maximum disk usage is configured in the edit profile screen.
Firefox users may see the following warning after the streaming is complete and myMovo launched iTunes. Click remember decision and allow to allow myMovo to launch iTunes.
When iTunes launches, you will see a new podcast has been created for each category of video that you selected. myMovo will reuse these podcasts and add to them the next time you stream videos.
You may have to right click on the podcast and select 'update podcast', depending on how you have configured iTunes. Also, depending on your iTunes setup, you may have to click the 'Get' button on the right hand side of each entry in the podcast. If you cancelled a download, or it was cancelled automatically, it will show up in the podcast as a bad link. This is will be fixed in the next release.
After your podcast is populated, you may have to right-click on the iPod icon in iTunes and select synchronize to move the podcasts onto your iPod. |
